Happy One Month Fishies

Today we have had our fish for one month.  Ezekiel LOVES them and is known to give them kisses, eat breakfast with them, always tells them good night, is the one to wake them in the morning and feeds them.  What a great pet they are!

Planet Watching

Last night we ventured over to Grandpa and Grandma Case's house to view the planets.  Daddy was super excited because you could see a couple of the planets shining brightly in the sky.  It was a fun little adventure and super exciting for Daddy.
Ezekiel tried to get in on the viewing, but he is still a little to young to understand.

Useful Tool

Ezekiel has decided that there is a tool that can open anything and can help him when he can't do it by himself.  This tool is the FORK.  Yes- he thinks it can help him do anything.  I find it funny that when faced with a tough task he will run to the kitchen, grab a fork, and proceed to use the fork to help him.  So fun to see what he finds useful and what he wants to carry around with him!

Visit with Mumzie

The last few days we have been visiting with Mumzie (Daddy's Grandma).  She came down from Sacramento for Thanksgiving.  It has been a great time showing her all that Ezekiel can do.  Ezekiel has spent many minutes hitting golf balls, batting off the tee, and just being himself.  It has been a great visit!

A Day of Thanks

We spent Thanksgiving with our family in Southern California.  The morning was quite busy with cooking, hanging out, and making a ton of messes.  Josh and Ezekiel enjoyed some time of watching the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and making a grand mess of the kitchen.  Here is a picture of their work:)
The afternoon was spent with family enjoying a meal and each others company.  Ezekiel enjoyed the time of getting to hit golf balls with his clubs and playing with his cousins, Emma and Peyton.
Overall we had a great day, especially the morning together with just Daddy, Mommy, and Ezekiel.

Great Moments

It is amazing how many great moments occur with a two year old.  Tonight we experienced a couple.  The first was baking.  I have discovered the joy of making a mess with Ezekiel.  There is nothing better than seeing his excitement over making something together.  The funny thing is that he doesn't even get to enjoy what we make, but he LOVES the process.  Here we are making Daddy some cookies.  What a great moment that I will always treasure.

Secondly, tonight before entering his shower Ezekiel wanted to sit on his potty.  This event usually consists of Ezekiel sitting a few moments before hopping up, saying all done, and jumping in the shower, but tonight was different!!!!  After a few moments, he actually WENT POTTY IN THE POTTY!  What an exciting moment.  Though I don't believe we are really close to being potty trained- it is a glimpse of what will come soon.  We can't wait! (Sorry- no picture of this one- it would be a little to risque)

Thanks Uncle & Auntie

Ezekiel is loving his playdough that he got from Uncle Chip and Auntie Tiffany for his birthday.  He loves to make worms and many other creatures.  Thanks for the great gift.

More Weekend Moments

Here are some much anticipated pictures of Ezekiel this last weekend.  First he held his cousin, Baby Avery, as we so affectionately refer to her.  She was needing some food, so as you can see, she wasn't exactly happy about the situation.

Next he had a great time with Alexis, his cousin once removed (this I just learned).  They also decided that the best way to say good-bye was with a kiss.  You have to love it.

Next are some pictures of the present opening festivities.
As you can see, the spoiling is in full affect when Ezekiel got to hit his golf balls IN THE HOUSE.

Finally, we participated in our weekly tradition of popcorn, apples, and a movie with the whole family.  It was so amazing to have all of us together again participating in this family tradition that was passed down from my dad's(papa) parents.  How cool!!!
We even ate popcorn from the maker that Grandpa and Grandma Great used with Papa's family.

Weekend Get Away

Today we arrive back home after a weekend at my parents.  Ezekiel had a grand time.  He received plenty of attention, tons of sugar, a second birthday celebration, and even ate a cupcake for breakfast.  What a spoiled life he leads when he is with my parents.  We spent the time visiting family, taking pictures, and hanging out.

Here is Ezekiel trying out his new clubs he got as a birthday gift.

After taking a few pictures, Ezekiel decided he wa
s done and simply walked away.
What a great time with family!

First Gum Ball

Ezekiel experienced his first gum ball.  After all the kids at the play date getting a gum ball Ezekiel just had to have one too.  I wasn't too excited so I just let him try to figure things out on his own.  He decided that holding the gum ball and licking all the blue off was the best approach.  So after a blue mouth, blue hands, and a bit of gum being swallowed I ended the first time experience.  I think we will wait a LONG time before reintroducing this fun food.  My original intention was to wait quite a while before he could have any gum so hopefully that goal wasn't ruined:)  I think he really just enjoyed the sugar coating- at least that is how I will rationalize it for now.

New Things!

Ezekiel has found some new things he likes to do.  The first is that of sticking straws in his train.  He discovered that the hole where the screws hold the train together will perfectly fit his straws.  So first he sticks all the holes full of straws and then will take them out and put them in his car to drive the straws around.  Makes you wonder what is going through his imagination.

Secondly, Ezekiel now has a new place to blow, pop, a
nd spill bubbles---THE BATH TUB!!!  This one was actually moms idea because she hates the stickiness involved in bubble blowing and the fact that the mixture gets everywhere.  So with that in mind, why not the tub.  It is easily washed away and the bubbles actually hang out long enough to be popped.  So Ezekiel will sit and pop the bubbles that land and have a splashing good time!
