It Comes with Brothers

When you have brothers...bruises are expected.
Eli got to experience the wrong end of Ezekiel's bat and look what he got.

A Day of Work and Play

We had to vacate the house for a couple hours so we headed to the park. It was a perfect day for the boys. Sunshine, sand, swings, and fun.

Ezekiel even got to work when they brought in a dump truck with new sand to distribute throughout the play area. Ezekiel asked the worker where to put the sand and he went right to work shovel full at a time.

Titus at 6 Months

Titus has been such a blessing. We can't believe he has already been in our family for six months. So for your 6 month birthday- 6 fun facts.

*You are still above normal when it comes to all your measurements. You weigh 18 lbs 12 oz and are 27 inches long. These put you in the 70th percentile and your head is in the 65th. We still can't determine your eye color, but we are leaning towards green/hazel/brown. To Mommy they look light brown/green in the middle and greyish blue around the outside.

*For the most part, you sleep well. Your nights are from about 7 pm to 6 am, but there are those night where you decide that 3:30 or 4:00 is a better time to wake and eat. You are not the best napper, but trying to keep up with two older brothers proves difficult to nap well. You do enjoy your afternoon nap that usually last from 2-3 hours. You do enjoy a pacifier when falling asleep and occasionally I will just put you down and you fall asleep. You are very stubborn when it comes to Daddy putting you down and he has enjoyed a few nights of you crying yourself to sleep.

*You are lazy or as the doctor says "low tone." Due to your slowness in rolling over and sitting up and Mommy's lack of giving you tummy time, you are in danger of baby physical therapy. Yep- better hit those milestones or you will have some work cut out for you. Right after your six month appointment we started working on building your muscles. Sorry for the spoiling!

*You started food a little while and you are doing alright. Slowly getting the eating thing down. You don't seem to enjoy the oat cereal much so maybe and introduction to veggies and fruits will do you some good.

*You have two wonderful brothers. Ezekiel can get you to giggle like crazy. Eli plants kisses on you like crazy. You love to watch them play and love it when they interact with you.

*You are my embracer. You constantly pull me close. You also love to put your hand on Mommy's face. It is such a special moment to feel your embrace. You also find Mommy hair hilarious and a wonderful thing to grab. You giggle when it moves and love to try to grab it with your hand.

Titus Dale you are so loved. You are such a blessing and wonderful part of our family. Your squishy check, contagious giggles, and charming smile melts Mommy and Daddy's hearts. We look forward to each moment we get to share with you and all the ways you will bless us. These last 6 months have been so great...can't wait to see what lays ahead.

Party

We had a very busy party day celebrating some special people and friends in our lives.

Ezekiel enjoyed celebrating his good friend Jordan. He would tell you that he loves his friend Jordan and any day he gets to play with him is good. They had a blast in the bounce house and just being friends.

Ezekiel also got to hang with his friends Jack and Ethan. Nothing better than cupcakes and friends.

We also were able to celebrate Caleb and Rachel. While we took no pictures of the festivities Ezekiel did get to enjoy face painting for the first time. Check out his body art! Such a cool rocket ship.

Titus Tastes Food

Titus officially started to eat foods today.

He has been wanting food for a while now. He will actually grab your hand with the food in it and pull it to his mouth. His first couple tastes were mashed potatoes that Daddy allowed him to pull to his mouth and eat and an apple that he LOVED putting in his mouth and was not happy when Mommy took it away. All these things showed that Titus was ready! (Plus he was starting to wake up at 3:30/4:00 in the morning to feed and Mommy was having none of that.)

He was a champ and hardly let anything come out of his mouth, but I think he is unimpressed with oatmeal and really wishing for something a little more tasty. Perhaps a veggie is in his near future.

With Proper Motivation...

Titus can sit up by himself for a little while.

Of course, the weight of his head gets to him and he starts to fold in half shortly after.

Working

While Papa and Mimi visited they boys worked with Papa on a lot of little and big jobs.

They poured some cement:

Eli walked right through the wet cement- so here are his clothes drying as there was no action picture of that one.

They put in a light:

The ate lots of treats:

They also did lots of other chores like changing the oil, repairing the wall, repairing a fireplace, and putting up some new boards on the fence. For some reason mommy was a camera slacker and took no pictures of the chores they did.

GAME DAY!

Tonight was Ezekiel's first game! He was excited for the game and it was a great night.

Getting game ready

Ezekiel warms up with Coach Daddy. Daddy is an Assistant Coach on his team...to bad the team pictures are on a Sunday so we won't have evidence of his coaching in that picture:
Our little base runner- a little slow, but serious about his job.

Ezekiel LOVES sliding.
He always slides into home and he even showed the other team how to do it when they were finishing their at bats. He ran with the other team past third (the position he was playing) and slide into home.

He played short stop, third, and first base. Although, at this age positions mean nothing when the ball is in play. It becomes the first person to get to the ball gets to throw it.

Yep- he is still playing short stop, even though he is in the second base position. He just wasn't the first person to the ball.

Ezekiel is a GREAT hitter. He did not have to use the tee and almost took out his coach with a hit up the middle. Daddy and Grandpa were so proud.

Great job Ezekiel. You and Daddy have so much fun doing this together. It is such a blast to watch you play!

Eli enjoys watching the game and is proud of his brother. He also enjoys the yummy snacks that he gets to consume.
