Skateboarding Boy

Ezekiel has really wanted to go skateboarding. We are not quite sure where he learned about skateboarding but he will pretend skateboard all the time (he even pretends to jump with the board). So we finally got down my board and let him try. He was a natural! This is a sequence of him standing and squating down to grab the board WHILE IT WAS GOING!!!! He also like sitting and riding. I see lots of road rash in our future! Got to love boys!!!!

OC Fair

We visited the fair! Ezekiel had a great time seeing all the animals and hanging out with Grandpa. It was a fun time petting animals, eating, and being with family.

Colorful Day

Ezekiel and Mommy had some fun art time today while Eli slept. It was about time Ezekiel was introduced to paint. Finger paint actually. We set up his esle outside, got the paint ready, the bucket of water to wash in, a towel to dry with, some paper to paint on, and then he painted. He was very timid at first. I am learning that with Ezekiel he doesn't just jump right into things he like to slowly enter in. He watches, observes, thinks about it, and finally he does it. His approach was no different when it came to painting.

He started off very slow- one finger at a time, one color and very slowly.

Next came two fingers, two colo
rs.

Finally at the end I got him to use his whole hand! It was a fun little activity for us to do and we will be repeating this for sure!

I especially love the finished project. These will go up on his wall I think.

AHHHHH Summer!

A time for no clothes.... A time to get dirty!!!!

New Things...

Eli has been doing quite a few new things lately-

He is rolling onto his side.
He is grabbing toys and other things with in reaching distance.

He is grabbing his feet.

He laughs like crazy when playing peek-a-boo.

Four Fantastic Months of Eli

Eli had his four month check up yesterday and it went well. He is currently 16 pounds and 14 ounces, 26 inches long, (both 80 percentile) and his head circumference is in the 75 percentile. So here is how all the developmental questions went:

Question: Is Eli rolling over?
Answer: No
Thought: I never have him on the ground so I really can't answer that.

Question: Is Eli pushing himself up off his t
ummy and holding up his head?
Answer: He can hold his head up well.
Thought: He has NEVER had tummy
time. I totally forgot about that!

Question: Is Eli looking at his hands?
Answer: I think so.
Thought: I never pay attention to that!

Question: Is Eli grasping toys a
nd holding them?
Answer: Not sure.
Thought: I would have had to give him a toy to know that and I haven't done that.

So..... most of Eli's life is spent sitting and watching the world around him! He smiles a ton and loves to talk, squeal, and laugh, but they didn't ask me about those things. So to Eli- I apologize if I have delayed your development because of your lack of exposure, but I truly just love having you sit, talk, and smile at me. He drools like crazy, so much he can cover his chest and belly with liquid. He also chews on his fingers and hand. These are the things I treasure about your at this moment.

On a side note- He is a terrible sleeper at this point. Meaning: he doesn't nap well and likes to wake up at 1 am, 3 am, and 5 am. We are currently working on breaking these habits!
