Blessings from Above

Today was beautiful and despite the sick infested home we have Ezekiel and I were able to enjoy it. Ezekiel loves the outdoors and nothing makes him happier than wandering around the backyard discovering. Today we enjoyed the beautiful Southern California weather that God sent our way by having a picnic lunch. Nothing too extravagant, just Ezekiel and I, a blanket, blueberries (Ezekiel's favorite snack), and the 80 degree weather.

Yes we enjoyed the day despite my fever, Ezekiel's pink eye, and the looming ear infection Ezekiel is being treated for. It seems this short month of February has provided us with many doctor visits, long hours of breathing treatments, and round two of antibiotics. But yes sickness can be a blessing from above. All you have to do is ask Ezekiel how he liked having the rule of the house because mommy was struggling to function.

Yesterday also provided us with many God sent moments. The first of these was when Ezekiel decided his crackers needed to be free from the baggy and a better place would be the floor where he could smash them, push them under the carpet and just easily eat one when he was hungry.

Next he decided to be a helper when mommy was sweeping. He LOVES to sweep, vacuum, swiffer, and pretty much anything that he can push around. When ever he gets the urge to help I tell him to grab the little broom. As you can see, his idea of help is sweeping the pile in all directions and when done walking through what is left as many times as he can. I am just excited that he longs to help.

Last of all Ezekiel does our weeding. It is great!!! He pulls out the stray vines that grow from the other side of the fence and puts them into Daddy's barbecue starter. Of course, after all that work Ezekiel likes to just relax in the shade with his ball. Just thought you might enjoy these special moment we get to share with Ezekiel everyday.

Today we also got to welcome a new friend- Kensington Jane. Our good friends had their first child today, a little girl. We can't wait to meet her!!! Thanks God for all your blessings, big and small. We never understand why you love and care for us some much, but today we choose to say thanks!!!

Favorite Things

Having favorite things in life can be such a joy. I have found this to be true with Ezekiel. In the past two days Ezekiel has enjoyed a couple of his favorite things with such zeal.

The first is meat! Yeah- can you believe that a 1 and 1/2 year old loves meat? It isn't just chicken or fish- it is red meat!!!

Last week the child polished off a half of a sizable piece of steak. Last night, he shined with pure joy as he demolished some Italian sausage. Just look at the grin. Daddy is SO proud.

Ezekiel's second favorite thing is balls. He LOVES to throw! Today he was blessed with a basketball hoop. Wow. The kid loves to dunk and will spend countless hours throwing all sorts of things into the hoop! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Case. Not only does this provide hours of throwing entertainment, but he also has another object on which to climb. What a boy! What a joy!!!!!

Giggles and Grins

Today was one of those days where you just love what you do. I walked into my son's room to see such a sight that made me laugh. Mema (my mom) had arranged Ezekiel's stuffed animals all around his crib to look over Ezekiel while he slept and today he had enough.

He pulled them ALL down.
I couldn't help but giggle when I saw Ezekiel sitting in the corner just smiling as I walked in. Daddy thought the site to be worth a laugh too.

Thanks Ezekiel for all the smiles and laughter you provide us!!
