Skateboarding Boy

Ezekiel has really wanted to go skateboarding. We are not quite sure where he learned about skateboarding but he will pretend skateboard all the time (he even pretends to jump with the board). So we finally got down my board and let him try. He was a natural! This is a sequence of him standing and squating down to grab the board WHILE IT WAS GOING!!!! He also like sitting and riding. I see lots of road rash in our future! Got to love boys!!!!

OC Fair

We visited the fair! Ezekiel had a great time seeing all the animals and hanging out with Grandpa. It was a fun time petting animals, eating, and being with family.

Colorful Day

Ezekiel and Mommy had some fun art time today while Eli slept. It was about time Ezekiel was introduced to paint. Finger paint actually. We set up his esle outside, got the paint ready, the bucket of water to wash in, a towel to dry with, some paper to paint on, and then he painted. He was very timid at first. I am learning that with Ezekiel he doesn't just jump right into things he like to slowly enter in. He watches, observes, thinks about it, and finally he does it. His approach was no different when it came to painting.

He started off very slow- one finger at a time, one color and very slowly.

Next came two fingers, two colo
rs.

Finally at the end I got him to use his whole hand! It was a fun little activity for us to do and we will be repeating this for sure!

I especially love the finished project. These will go up on his wall I think.

AHHHHH Summer!

A time for no clothes.... A time to get dirty!!!!

New Things...

Eli has been doing quite a few new things lately-

He is rolling onto his side.
He is grabbing toys and other things with in reaching distance.

He is grabbing his feet.

He laughs like crazy when playing peek-a-boo.

Four Fantastic Months of Eli

Eli had his four month check up yesterday and it went well. He is currently 16 pounds and 14 ounces, 26 inches long, (both 80 percentile) and his head circumference is in the 75 percentile. So here is how all the developmental questions went:

Question: Is Eli rolling over?
Answer: No
Thought: I never have him on the ground so I really can't answer that.

Question: Is Eli pushing himself up off his t
ummy and holding up his head?
Answer: He can hold his head up well.
Thought: He has NEVER had tummy
time. I totally forgot about that!

Question: Is Eli looking at his hands?
Answer: I think so.
Thought: I never pay attention to that!

Question: Is Eli grasping toys a
nd holding them?
Answer: Not sure.
Thought: I would have had to give him a toy to know that and I haven't done that.

So..... most of Eli's life is spent sitting and watching the world around him! He smiles a ton and loves to talk, squeal, and laugh, but they didn't ask me about those things. So to Eli- I apologize if I have delayed your development because of your lack of exposure, but I truly just love having you sit, talk, and smile at me. He drools like crazy, so much he can cover his chest and belly with liquid. He also chews on his fingers and hand. These are the things I treasure about your at this moment.

On a side note- He is a terrible sleeper at this point. Meaning: he doesn't nap well and likes to wake up at 1 am, 3 am, and 5 am. We are currently working on breaking these habits!

Back to the Beach

Last week we hit the beach for the first time this summer. We can't wait for more beach days! Fully taking advantage of where we live!

Soccer!!!!!

Ezekiel enjoyed his first night of preschool soccer. We have some friends that run a free preschool soccer night and Ezekiel was able to join in the fun. Though he started out being really shy and needing Daddy to do everything with him, he ended the night really enjoying himself and just got into the flow of soccer. He loves sports (totally under his own development- no pressure from the parents) and really enjoyed kicking the ball! It was a fun night for him and he can't wait for the next time!

Some photos of the action.

At one point he was playing so hard he ran right out of his shoe!

Family from Afar

We had visitors this last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed every minute we got to spend with them. Uncle Chip, Auntie Tiffany, and Baby Avery stayed at our house. We had some fun times and Ezekiel LOVED having his Uncle and Aunt around. He wanted to spend every minute with them and many times the had to ask for him to give them some privacy so they could change, go to the bathroom, and the such... what love he has for them.

Here is all of us out to eat.

We also discovered that with three young children in the house no one gets to sleep in.

We also got stuck in an elevator. This was a first for all of us and an fun memorable experience. Thanks Fashion Island for the fun times.

Slurpee Day!

On July 11 we enjoyed free slurpee day at 7-11. We took an afternoon walk and got our free slurpee that was much needed on such a HOT day.

A Sittin' Man

Eli sat up supported yesterday for the first time. He is really starting to take in his world. He will just sit, watch, and smile. Have I mentioned what a happy baby he is. He smiles all the time, especially at Ezekiel. It is so wonderful to watch the connection between brothers already!

Here is Eli sitting up.
P.S. Eli is super chubby (just in case the rolls don't give it away)!

Fort-abulous

This last week consisted of a lot of indoor play due to an unfriendly cat using our lawn as his litter box. So instead of playing outside we created an indoor fort. What fun Ezekiel had. Daddy and Eli also joined in the fun!

Funny Things Said

by Ezekiel...

1. "Jesus, you are in a time out." When asked why.."He hit me"

2. "Funk you, funk you" This was said as he was giving himself knuckles from one hand to the other. (funk is what we call it when you give someone knuckles)

3. "Mommy you have crumbies on your legs" in response to feeling the hair on my legs.

I think this will be an ongoing entry when ever my boys say something that just has me laughing!

First Big Boy Bath

Tonight for the first time, Ezekiel and Eli bathed together. It was fun watching the boys interact. This means: Ezekiel played and Eli watched in adoration of his older brother. There came a point where Eli grew tired of having water dumped on him, toys put on his head and body, and being loved upon so he was removed, but overall a great time between brothers!

A Glimpse of Last Week

We spent last week at Papa and Mimi's house. We went on a couple adventures with the youth, but very few pictures were taken. We enjoyed nature, hanging out with family, and ample water time.
